Footer area is enabled by default and Offshore footer consists of the pre-footer area, footer area, footer bottom left and footer bottom right area. You can disable each of these area’s from Appearance > Customize > Offshore Options > Global Footer Options. These options can be overridden from under Offshore options box on every post / page.
The main portion of the Offshore footer is a widgetized section that can display widgets in 1-6 (except 5) columns. It is recommended to add 1, 2, 3, 4, or 6 widgets under pre-footer and footer areas. The widgets will automatically adjust to the width of these footer areas. Widgets are added in the widget section of your admin.
